Camp Prospect was established in 1998 at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre. The program originally ran as a 4 week summer camp for children and adults with special needs.
After the first summer, there was a recognized need for more programs throughout the year. Christmas and March Break programs were added, as well as occasional weekends. Camp Prospect then expanded and opened its first year round program. This was the Cottage Program, which was a year round respite home, situated on the Mansfield property.
In the spring of 2006, Camp Prospect opened its first full time residential program. The Loretto farm is home to 6 individuals and houses the organizations head office. Due to demand in service, Camp Prospect opened a second full time Residential home. This is the Beeton house, which is an eight bedroom home situated on 10 acres.
Due to the increased service that Camp Prospect provides, the name of the organization was changed to Prospect Services in the spring of 2009. Prospect Services encompasses Camp Prospect, Prospect Residential Services, Prospect Respite Services, and all other services that Camp Prospect previously provided. |
